We know Dina. We demand justice.
She was 17 years old. She came from Gabon, Central Africa, to study at university in Turkey.
On March 26, 2023, her lifeless body was found in the Filyos River, in Karabük.
There were bruises on her body.
Her death was suspicious.
According to witnesses, she was seen running barefoot after being cornered by two men.
It was reported that she had been harassed and received sexually explicit messages.
Shortly before her death, she told her mother she had been subjected to racist and sexist abuse and wanted to leave Karabük.
During the investigation, eight people were detained.
D.A. was released three times, then arrested.
The prosecutor demanded up to 30 years in prison for charges of intentional killing and sexual assault.
But…
On December 17, 2024, the court ruled for acquittal.
An effective investigation was not conducted.
Justice was not served for Dina.
But we have not forgotten her.
We demand justice for Dina!
