Under the Convention, State parties are obliged to raise social awareness about persons with disabilities. Translation of the Convention into sign language, as well as other accessible formats, is part of this obligation. Unfortunately, it has not been translated into sign language by the responsible authorities in the last 10 years.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>UN Committee of Rights of Persons with Disabilities, has recommended that the Convention be translated into sign language, in paragraph 70 of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.esithaklar.org\/2019\/04\/bm-engelli-haklari-komitesi-nihai-gozlem-raporu-2019\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"Concluding Observations of Turkey\u2019s First Reporting Period (opens in a new tab)\">Concluding Observations of Turkey\u2019s First Reporting Period<\/a>. Our Association has translated the summary of the Convention into sign language, in order to inform persons with hearing impairments about the Convention as well as raising awareness. The reason for the summary translation of the Convention, is due to the word limitation of Turkish sign language.
